Mt.Shakushi, counted among the Kanto Fuji Viewing Hundred Sceneries, is a representative viewpoint of Fujiyoshida City.
From the summit of Mt.Shakushi, at an altitude of 1,598 meters, you can see the magnificent Mt.Fuji spreading endlessly over the foothills, as well as a 360-degree panorama including the Southern Alps, Okuchichibu, and Tanzawa mountain ranges. Its beauty captivates the hearts of those who see it. There are two types of climbing courses on Mt.Shakushi, each with different levels of difficulty.
On the route along the Furuyagawa River, you can enjoy climbing while looking at the dynamic ridgeline where strata that were once seabeds about 15 million years ago are exposed, with Mt.Fuji in the background.
On the other hand, the Toriigedai Pass route is a course suitable for strong climbers, where you can proceed along the route while admiring the magnificent Mt.Fuji, which spreads widely over the foothills.
